Asbestos bodies and asbestos fibers were found in the lungs of a mesothelioma patient and analysed by electron microscopy. The bodies were normal asbestos bodies with amphibole-asbestos fibers as kernels. The free asbestos fibers, present in the lungs, mainly were chrysotile-asbestos. © 1973 Springer-Verlag.
