Concept of a future Nissan car interior

The previous chapter demonstrated the effects of small changes on the experience of comfort. Of course this is important to achieve short term effects, but to stay ahead of competitors long term developments are needed as well. This chapter
describes the process of designing a more future-oriented car interior. Car manufacturers have to be very competitive to keep, and preferably expand, their market share; new products are a must. To find out which new products will be successful, concept cars are often shared with future buyers. In this study, the development of a concept for a new car interior is described. The project is a collaboration between Nissan, Creative Box Inc., and the industrial design faculties of the Delft University of Technology and the Eindhoven University of Technology. Creative Box Inc. is perhaps not so well-known and may need some introduction. Car Styling magazine sharply described Creative Box as Nissan
Design's "think-tank." Most of the work of Creative Box, mainly the design of new concept cars for various motor shows throughout the year, is commissioned by Nissan.
