Hybride coatings, nieuwe materialen met veelzijdige toepassingen

article
This article presents a survey of recent developments and trends in the synthesis, properties and applications of hybrid coatings. Hybrid coatings dispose of specific properties of organic coatings such as flexibility and impact-resistance and relatively low curing temperatures, combined with properties of ceramic coatings such as mechanical strength, chemical resistance and scratch and abrasion resistance. Such coatings have been applied on various substrates, ranging from glas, ceramic, plastics, metals to wood. Various examples of (potential) applications are presented, such as scratch and abrasion resistant coatings on steel and aluminium, anti-fouling coatings on glass and scratch and abrasion resistant coatings on polycarbonate.
