Advanced tyre modelling in DADS using DELFT-TYRE

conference paper
In vehicle dynamics studies detailed knowledge about the interaction forces between tyre and road are inevitable. Since the 1st publication by Pacejka of the Magic Formula Tyre model, the use of this model has become very popular, due to its accuracy, calculation speed and physical relations to the parameters. At the Delft Vehicle Dynamics Research Centre (DVR is a co-operation between TNO and the Delft University of Technology, group of Dr. Pacejka) the DELFT-TYRE software has been developed in order to support the engineer in state of the art tyre modelling for Vehicle Dynamics simulations. The availability of the Standard Tyre Interface in DADS allows to easily link the software to your simulation environment. This presentation gives an overview of the present available DELFT-TYRE products and the future models which are and will become available for the users of DADS.
