Towards a risk-based design of underground construction in urban areas (A la direction d'un concept de construction souterraine basé sur risques dans les territoires urbains)
conference paper
Risk assessment techniques and the probabilistic design concept address the same features, but their synergy is seldom used. This is caused by the often-changing scope of risk assessments with time, and the different views expressed by the designers and the risk assessors. The paper describes in which way steps made during the risk assessment process can be used in the design process, and the advantages thereof for both disciplines.
