In this paper, the project team for the new Eurocode EN 1991-1-4 discusses the backgrounds of the pressure coefficients, which are used in ENV 1991-2-4 (1995). An overview of the variety of sources used to obtain the data set in ENV 1991-2-4 and comments on the applicability of the data set for external pressures within the quasi-steady formulation of the wind loads on buildings in EN 1991-1-4, are given.
