A database for sources of pollution for healthy and comfortable indoor environment (SOPHIE): Status 2000

conference paper
As an outcome of a former project of the JOULE programme of the European Commission, the Database SOPHIE (Sources of Pollution for a Healthy and Comfortable Indoor Environment) represents an attempt to contribute to an objective, permanent and dynamic documentation of indoor air pollution sources. The interest expressed towards SOPHIE by different potential users is ongoing. Therefore it was decided to form a European organization to handle the dissemination and exploitation of SOPHIE. Ways to make it accessible and useful to the scientific and professional community have been under preparation. SOPHIE is for the moment a joint activity of twelve institutes, universities and companies, who participate together in two European projects: AIRLESS and MATHIS. The project MATHIS focuses on the building part, including sorption and the modeling strands, and the project AIRLESS on the HVAC system part.
This paper presents the activities that have been taken with respect to marketing and organizational matters of SOPHIE, as well as a presentation of the features of SOPHIE
