Membrane Gas Absorption

conference paper
Membrane gas absorption processes are absorption processes utilising hollow fibre membranes as contacting media for gas and liquid flows. The principle of operation and engineering aspects are discussed, followed by discussion of a number of typical applications. Benefits in terms of operation, efficiency and costs are shown to exist for a variety of applications, as a result of the equipment compactness and flexibility. The use of a cross-flow, modular membrane unit enhances the opportunities for the application of membrane gas absorption.
