Adapting CHP Software to suit the modelling of heat pump and refrigeration systems

The role of heat pumps and refrigeration machines as integrated parts of energy supply systems is increasing as a result of the search for systems which supply the desired amounts and types of energy in an energy-efficient manner. Tools to support engineers in designing, analysing and optimising such complex systems are scarce. The Dutch computer programme Cycle-Tempo, developed by Delft University of Technology and TNO, has been adapted for modelling also heat pumps and refrigeration machines as well. This paper will discuss the current status of this development
