Energy labels for refrigeration / AC equipment minimum efficiency requirements
conference paper
Energy labelling for refrigeration and air conditioning equipment is one of the best ways to stimulate energy efficiency and energy saving, without limiting free trade. Particularly in the European Union, interest in energy labelling is increasing and for some product groups mandatory or voluntary labelling schemes exist or are foreseen. Manufacturers are responsible for application of an energy label, including the information on the label. To complete a labelling scheme, an independent verification of some samples is necessary.
Mandatory efficiency standards however strongly influence free trade and are only foreseen in the EU for household refrigerating equipment.
Details about current schemes and expected trends are given, with a focus on Europe
