Optimale medische begeleiding van kinderen met het syndroom van down

article
Children with Down syndrome (DS) have an increased risk of congenital anomalies and may develop additional medical problems in higher frequency. Based on the present level of knowledge syndrome specific medical tests and evaluations are recommended. Open communication with both parents from the onset of diagnosis helps them to adapt to their childs disability. These medical recommendations composited by the Dutch Down Syndrome Working Group of the Dutch Pediatric Association, are here summarised. A checklist to be used as a record sheet is added.
