Working conditions in the European meat processing industry
report
This report reflects the main results of one part of the study 'Monitoring the work environment at sectorial level'. This part regards the meat processing industry in Europe. In this study, which was a project of the European Foundation for Living and Working Conditions, ten member states of the European Community (EC) were involved. The study report describes some social economic characteristics of the meat sector, but it mainly presents a cross-national overview of the occupational health and safety situation in this sector. Since the report is particularly meant for policy makers, it also contains policy options for further improvements, both at company level, as well as at sectorial level and national level.
