Automated Acoustic Data Collection Experiments
conference paper
As part of a CEC MAST 3 project entitled PROSIM (PROpagation channel SlMulator)
acoustic and oceanographic data gathering experiments were carried out off the West Coast
of Scotland. This paper will discuss the preparation and logistics for these sea trials as well
as the specification for the acoustic tests as seen from the viewpoint of the acoustic modellers.
The automated data collection equipment and the novel projector bearing alignment system
will be described. An example of preliminary data analysis, carried our br TNO-FEL,
indicates that the Clyde Sea exhibits high temporal variability.
