Lessons learned from the ITEC DIS demonstrations

During the ITEC'94 and ITEC'95 TNO Physics and Electronics Laboratory (TNO-FEL) organised and coordinated the multinational DlS-demonstrations with the participation of many leading simulation industries and organisations. Prior to the demonstrations, for integration and test purposes of the applications as well as for rehearsal of the scenario, TNO-FEL provided assistance and space in her premises for personnel and equipment of the participants. The preparations and the actual DlS-demonstrations at the ITEC proved to be a valuable opportunity for companies to show their products and to learn from each other. Also the active participation of the Royal Netherlands Army was a mutually profitable experience. In this paper the goals set for the ITEC'95 demonstation and the solutions appJied to achieve these goals will be explained. To conclude, some ideas for future demonstrations/exercises will be outlined.
