Assessment of dry deposition fluxes of NH3 and NH4+ over natural terrains

The dry deposition velocity of NH_3 and NH^+_4 ions in particles was determined using the micrometeorological gradient method. The vertical concentration gradient of NH_3, necessary to calculate the flux, was measured using oxalic acid coated denuders. NH^+_4 ions were determined in the airstream leaving the denuders using impregnated filters. Measurements were performed indifferent seasons over mainly heather/purple moor grass vegetation and a pine plantation with 2.5 m high Corsican pine.
