Algorithm for inverting lidar returns: Comment

This Letter describes an improvement of the algorithm for inverting lidar returns, which was recently published by Ferguson and Stephens. In addition, some comments are made concerning the relationship between the backscatter coefficient β and the extinction coefficient σ.
