It demonstrates the importance of labor research in vocational rehabilitation. The success of vocational rehabilitation depends in large measure on the suitability of the job chosen and the adaptability of the workplace. The study was carried out by Netherlands organization for applied scientific research (TNO), one of the largest research institutes in the Netherlands. Part of this institute's program is devoted to research on the quality of the work. Within this section there is a research program on work for disabled people. The aim of the study was to determine which jobs on a lower education level are suitable for young adults with a disability of one hand or arm.
