Smokers, R.T.M. Wilkins, S. Spreen, J.S. Publication year 2017 Abstract The supply chain of goods delivered in urban areas is larger than the transport associated purely with the ‘last mile’ in city distribution. In retail, for example, the flow of goods is often routed via regional or national distribution centres. The transport of goods towards and between these centres is often characterized by long-distance trips with heavy loads. This so-called long-haul road transport is by far the most dominant modality and is responsible for nearly half of all CO2 emissions in heavy-duty freight transport in the Netherlands, as figure 1 shows Subject TrafficEnvironment & SustainabilityUrbanisation2015 Urban Mobility & Environment 2015 Fluid & Solid MechanicsSTL - Sustainable Transport & Logistics PT - Power TrainsELSS - Earth, Life and Social Sciences TS - Technical Sciences To reference this document use: http://resolver.tudelft.nl/uuid:f3d23dc8-194e-432a-98b8-485218ebbfab TNO identifier 780516 Publisher TNO Document type other Files PDF zyl-2017-great.pdf
