Augmented emission maps: Augmented emission maps: uCare You Can Always Reduce Emmissions because you care: Deliverable D1.2

uCARE aims to reduce pollutant emissions of the existing European vehicle fleet. The project intends to inform drivers about how to change their behaviour in such a way that tailpipe and wear emissions are reduced. To determine possible reductions, one needs to understand how emissions are related to vehicle use. There is much to be learned from how vehicle emissions are related to use, but to do so emission data must be stored, characterised and distributed. We propose an emission map concept with which the relationship between the use of a vehicle and experiment-based emission data can be described in a logical and structured way, be it in the form of a map or in the form of a function. Maps or functions can be created on any level of the earlier proposed vehicle taxonomy (see uCARe deliverable D1.1), dependent on distinctiveness and availability of data.
