Abstract
This paper presents a description of an effective interconnection between the crash simulation package MADYMO and the mathematical analysis software MATLAB/Simulink. The combination of the multibody design and analysis capabilities of MADYMO and the control design and analysis capabilities of MATLAB allows the analysis of complex active suspensions, truck active roll stabilisation and even active muscle behaviour in human body models. Two benchmarks have been used to test the coupling between these programs which indicate that accurate results can be obtained efficiently.
