Abstract
Many post-war housing estates, build in the period 1950-1965, are in a derelict state and are unattractive to live in. The housing production in the mentioned pe-riod was very high and in several years more than 15 dwellings per 1000 people. In that time, when the Dutch housing need was high, there were produced more than 80.000 dwellings per year in monotonous housing blocks. Nowadays at an age of about 25-30 years, the housing estates are so far that renovation will be consid-ered. The housing projects however have the potential for better housing condi-tions. What they lack is the potential to change according to the needs of the consumers
