Contributor Cullen, J. (editor) Siegrist, J. (editor) Wegmann, H.M. (editor) Publication year 1984 Abstract A review is given of some of the main research areas on human behaviour in road traffic, the purpose of which is the application of research findings in order to contribute to the solution of problems in road safety and efficiency. The subjects are discussed under three main headings; methods and instrumentation, basic research on human behaviour and applied research areas. The first two of these are seen as being in support to the third one. For a large part the review reflects the work done in the Institute for Perception TNO. Some future trends are marked and research priorities proposed.
