Abstract
From August 24-29, 2003 in Seoul, Korea the XVth Triennial Congress of the International Ergonomics Association and the 7th Joint Conference of Ergonomics Society of Korea / Japan Ergonomics Society were held. The central theme was "Ergonomics in the digital age". The theme of this paper is about costs and benefits of design for all. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment in the Netherlands is an important promoter of design for all principles. They considered it important to be able to present the costs and benefits of design for all solutions. At the hand of ten cases, a developed costs-benefits model was tested. The results show that the model works well, and that all solutions have a positive ratio. The model can as well be used for other ergonomic interventions and improvements.
