Abstract
Somatometric data on the body composition and the nutritional status of Dutch boys and men aged 8-25 years in the period 1960-1964 - Somatometric data which may be considered necessary to evaluatie the state of nutrition were determined in boys and men aged 8-25 years with various social backgrounds and of five different age groups, the mean ages being 9½, 13½, 15½, 18½ and 21½ years. Boys in the more active groups from training schools for marine- and physical education are found to have less fat and better muscular development as well as broader skeletal frame, when compared with high-school pupils. In the Netherlands boys have markedly less subcutaneous fat when compared with boys in North-American population.
